We sponsor the SOS Children’s Village in Seekirchen am Wallersee in Austria
Our work for SOS-Kinderdorf and our company sponsorship in Seekirchen am Wallersee are a special concern for us. “A loving home for every child” is the motto of SOS-Kinderdorf. The organization gives children who have to grow up without parents a new long-term home, supports young people on their way to independence and helps children and their families in crisis situations. At Teekanne, we have been making a difference with a powerful message about sharing and cooperation for several years now by supporting SOS-Kinderdorf. As a sponsor of the SOS Children’s Village in Seekirchen am Wallersee, we are happy to fulfill the birthday and Christmas wishes of the children living there every year through the company sponsorship. The personal encounters and the shining eyes of the children are the best reward for us.
Founded in 1949 in Innsbruck, SOS-Kinderdorf spans a humanitarian arc around the world across more than 135 countries, all religions, cultures and societies. The first SOS Children’s Village was built in Imst in Tyrol. What began there as a “Village of 70 Children” has developed into an international organization over the past seven decades. We are proud to be a part of it.
TEEKANNE Advent Calendar
The cooperation with the SOS-Kinderdorf is also reflected in our annual TEEKANNE Advent Calendar. The net proceeds of the Advent Calendar, which is lovingly designed from children’s drawings and contains 24 delicious teas, have been donated to SOS-Kinderdorf for many years.
Marketing employees has been involved in the ” Kleine Küchenhelden” (Little Kitchen Heroes) project as a volunteer in her spare time for several years. Here, children between the ages of 6 and 14 are given an understanding of how to prepare fresh food and eat together at a beautifully laid table. Great importance is attached to the use of regional and seasonal food. Around 25 children experience the joy of food and the importance of healthy eating through play by industriously chopping and cooking every Tuesday afternoon.
At TEEKANNE, we believe that it is important for children to experience what it means to live healthily and enjoyably. That is why we are happy to support the “Kleine Küchenhelden” financially, so that many more children can learn about how to approach food creatively.
Our colleagues in the field visit social institutions for needy people as well as night shelters throughout Austria during the cold winter months. They donate warmth with our tea.
Donation of goods whose use-by date is about to expire
We do not simply dispose of goods whose use-by date is about to expire. They are passed on free of charge to social institutions that have made it their business to support vulnerable people. We thereby provide charitable support on the one hand and avoid food waste and garbage on the other.
Cooperation with integrative companies
In the Salzburg area, we opt to work together with integrative institutions that employ people with disabilities and regularly award contract packing orders to these companies.
In this respect, it is a matter of course for us to accept minor additional costs compared to contract packing orders placed in the Southeast European region, e.g. in Bulgaria. We reduce energy consumption and environmental pollution by avoiding long transport routes across Europe.
